Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister Floyd Green, is reminding Jamaicans, that they have until the end of this week, to comment on the regulations for the new National Identification System (NIDS).
NIDS, an electronic form of identity, is expected to provide a comprehensive and secure database for capturing and storing the personal information of citizens and non-nationals, ordinarily resident in the country.
Members of the Jamaican diaspora will also be able to register for the new identification card.
Early last month, the public was urged to give the government feedback, on draft regulations for the implementation of NIDS.
Speaking with Irie F M News today, Mr. Green said feedback can be submitted to the Office of the Prime Minister.
