Businessman Omar Collymore has been found guilty of the murder of his wife 32-year-old businesswoman Simone Campbell Collymore and taxi operator Winston Walters.

Collymore appeared before the Home Circuit Court today and was convicted by a 7-member jury.

Reports are that in January 2018, Mrs. Collymore was being transported home in a taxi, driven by Walters, when gunmen opened fire at the vehicle outside the gate of her home in Red Hills, St. Andrew.

Following investigations, 5 men, including the husband, were arrested, and charged.

Collymore, along with Shaquilla Edwards, Michael Adams, Dwayne Pink and Wade Blackwood, faced the court on charges related to the double murder.

Blackwood pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life imprisonment, to serve 35 years before being eligible for parole. He also became a witness for the crown.

Adams and Pink were convicted of murder, while Edwards was found guilty of conspiracy to murder.

They will be sentenced on July 11.
