He has been identified as private Jerome McCatty.

The JDF said private McCatty, was found unresponsive in the swimming pool at the National Stadium pool and was rushed to the university hospital of the west indies, for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.

In expressing sadness at his death, the JDF said it offers its sincere condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of private McCatty.
