This morning’s double fatal crash in Drax Hall, St. Ann has pushed the number of people killed on the nation’s roadways since the start of the year to 201.

The identities of the latest victims have not yet been released, however, they are believed to be a man and a woman.

Reports are that at about 12:10am, a Porsche motor car with 4 occupants and a Toyota Probox motor car which was being operated as a taxi with four people aboard collided.

All eight people received injuries and were taken to hospital where the driver and a female passenger of the Toyota Probox motor car were pronounced dead.

Vice Chairman of the National Road Safety Council, Dr. Lucien Jones has described the crash as tragic.

Dr. Jones is again urging persons to use the nation’s roadways with care.
