According to the Agency, the incident happened on Saturday, January 27, while
the child was left in the care of an adult known to her family.

Following the incident, the child was taken to hospital that same day by her parent, where she received a medical examination.

She remains in the care of her parents.

The CPFSA says the child was referred to the Ministry of Justice’s Victims Services Division for counselling and psychosocial support.

The child will also be provided support by the Agency’s Children and Family Support Unit.

Meantime, the Agency notes that the perpetrator was charged by the police with rape and grievous sexual assault.
