Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Deputy Leader, Desmond McKenzie, has expressed confidence that the party will win the next local government elections, whilst improving on the number of council seats that it currently holds.
The local government elections are constitutionally due in February 2024, after being delayed twice.
Speaking at a JLP press conference this morning (November 21), Mr. McKenzie said he is confident of the party’s ability and that it will continue to lead local government.
Meantime, JLP General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang said polls are indicating overwhelming support for the party, as most electors said they would vote for their sitting councillors.
