Several residents of Text Lane in Downtown, Kingston are counting their losses after fire gutted their homes this morning (August 16).

Some of them say their belongings have been completely destroyed, or badly damaged.

A family of four is now without a roof over their heads, after fire gutted their seven bedroom dwelling.

One of the victims, recalled the horrific incident, saying she and her mother narrowly escaped the blaze through a back fence.

Noting that she is unaware what caused the fire, she said she is now without back to school supplies.

Meanwhile, another resident said he lost all his appliances in the fire, as well as his cart and materials he uses for his juice selling business.
