NWC management, trade unions and labour ministry to resume talks tomorrow

The management of the National Water Commission, (NWC) the five trade unions representing NWC workers and the labour ministry, are to resume conciliation talks tomorrow.

This, after the parties failed to arrive at a definite resolution, during a meeting held on Monday, in response to the NWC workers’ concerns with the ongoing compensation review.

Monday‘s meeting followed a 72-hour strike notice which was issued on Friday, by the five unions, on behalf of the NWC workers.

Labour Minister Pearnel Charles Junior says during the meeting the parties agreed to further review the management’s revised proposal and meet tomorrow afternoon at 2pm.

He is urging NWC workers to continue normal operations while conciliation talks are ongoing.
