Vaz Preparatory School, one of the island’s most prestigious early education institution, is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee this year.

Situated on Jackson Road in Rollington Town Kingston, the Pre-K through Grade 6 school was Founded in 1951 by Hazel Vaz.

The school has produced some of Jamaica’s and the world’s most accomplished citizens across sports, business, medicine, the arts, diplomacy, and technology.


Its alumni include Olympic champions, a Super Bowl winner, world record holders, the coach behind Usain Bolt’s 8 Olympic gold medals, a Visa board member, Jamaica’s diplomats, the children of Bob Marley, and the family that built Jamaica’s premier financial institution.


On September 12, 2026, the celebrations will culminate with the 75th Anniversary Gala at the AC Marriott Hotel, Kingston — a Black-Tie fundraising event targeting JMD $75 Million to fund scholarships, solar panels, a STEAM lab, the Creative Centre, and a perpetual scholarship endowment.


Four-time Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross is a proud alumna of Vaz Prep and an ambassador for the 75th Benefit Gala. She is also a five-time World Championships gold medalist..
