Javier Ainstein officially appointed new head coach of Montego Bay United
Argentine coach Javier Ainstein has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Montego Bay United ahead of the 2026-27 Wray & Nephew Jamaica Premier League season.
Ainstein arrived in Jamaica in December 2025 and took charge of Waterhouse FC, guiding the club to the playoffs before their campaign ended with a defeat to Cavalier FC.
Following the conclusion of the season, Ainstein resigned from his position at Waterhouse and will now take over the reins at Montego Bay United.
He replaces Xavier Gilbert, who has been promoted to the role of Technical Director at Montego Bay United.
Gilbert fills the vacancy left by Andrew Peart, who recently departed the club to take up the position of Director of Football at the Jamaica Football Federation.
