Chairpersons of school boards have been urged to ensure proper policies and procedures are in place to ensure safety of students.
In addition, the Jamaica Association of Chairmen for Secondary Institutions (JACSI) is calling on the relevant authorities to swiftly apprehend and punish those who are targeting students.
JACSI’s President Courtney Wynter is expressing deep concern about the targeting of students and schools in Jamaica.
He says kidnapping, murder, candy laced with drugs and bomb threats are just a few of the recent incidents targeting students.
Mr. Wynter states that it is incredibly sad that persons can endanger the lives of students and cause chaos within schools.
Mr. Wynter underscores the need for proper policies and procedures for the safety of students.
