A meeting is to be held on Friday between the Labour Ministry, the Guardsman Group and the trade union representing security guards assigned to the US embassy in Kingston, for continued discussions on wages and other benefits.
The guards are represented by the Union of Clerical, Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE).
On Tuesday, 60 security guards called in sick, in protest over wage offers made to them.
UCASE President Vincent Morrison, said the guards are frustrated as the offers are not in line with a liveable wage.
He said the workers are hopeful that at the end of discussions with the company and intervention of the ministry, a better offer will be made.
