Wednesday November 29 and Sunday December 3 have been earmarked as the dates during which Jamaica’s Reggae Girls will return to action as they seek qualification for the inaugural staging of the Concacaf Women’s Gold to be held in the United States.
The matches which take place during the FIFA women’s match window of November will determine the last eight women’s national teams that will advance to the 2024 Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup, joining the seven teams that have already qualified.
The Jamaicans are bottom of the three-team table in group ‘b’ on a point after a new look squad led by the veteran Chinyelu Asher opened its campaign with a 2-1 loss away to panama on October 25 followed by 2-all draw at home with Guatemala on October 29.
This owing to the standoff between the world cup squad and local governing body the Jamaica Football federation.
The game on November 29 will be held at the National Stadium and will see the Reggae girlz facing panama who lead the standings on 6 points while the contest on December 3 will see the Xavier Gilbert coached unit playing away to Guatemala who are second on 4 points…..in Guatemala City
The top finishers in each league ‘a’ group will qualify for the group stage of the 2024 Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup with the second-place finishers advancing to the preliminaries where they will joined by the 3 first-place finishers in league b.
The inaugural edition of the Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup will be played between February 17 and march 10.
