The student accused of beating a schoolmate at BB Coke High School in St Elizabeth last Thursday is expected to face the court today.
The teen was charged at the weekend with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
Meantime the injured student remains in hospital.
Education Minister Fayval Williams in an update yesterday on social media, reported that the boy continues to improve and is looking and feeling much better.
She added that his family members have been by his side at hospital. He was transferred from Manchester to the University Hospital of the West Indies.
The post indicated that the school’s Vice Principal also visited the student.
The attack on the student reportedly stemmed from the younger boy allegedly stepping on an older boy’s shoes.
The child lost consciousness during the attack.
