Chief Justice Bryan Sykes to begin handing down sentences today in Clansman-One Don Gang trial

Chief Justice Bryan Sykes is expected to begin handing down sentences today for Andre ‘Blackman’ Bryan and 14 others who were convicted earlier this year in the Clansman-One Don Gang trial.

After the two-day sentencing hearing last week, the Chief Justice indicated the case would resume today (October 2) and that he expects to complete sentencing by tomorrow.

Last week, the attorneys for the men made submissions on why their clients who were convicted for being part of a criminal organisation, should receive reduced sentencing.

Bryan who spoke on his own behalf, was convicted for leadership of a criminal organisation and six counts of facilitating the commission of a serious offence by a criminal organisation.

He described himself as the don and teacher, telling the court that he gave orders and instructions. He stated that everyone should have been pardoned and he be held to account.
