Approximately 200 correctional officers are vying for 85 promotional opportunities under the Department of Correctional Services’ new promotion policy.

State Minister of National Security, Zavia Mayne provided an update on the policy while speaking at today’s (March 3) passing-out parade ceremony for the 83rd intake of correctional officers at the Carl Rattray Staff College in St. Ann.

Under the new policy, Minister Mayne stressed that the hard work of correctional officers will be met with the requisite level of acceleration through the system.

He also assured that nepotism will not thrive at the Department of Correctional Services.
