St. Ann Municipal Corporation to spend approximately $55 million for Christmas works

The St. Ann Municipal Corporation will be spending approximately $55 million for Christmas works in the 16 divisions across the parish.

The money which will include the $1 million made available to each of the 16 Councillors by the Ministry of Local Government, has been welcomed by the Corporation.

Chairman of the Corporation and Mayor of St. Ann’s Bay, Sydney Stewart who made the disclosure, said while the money is not enough to reach everyone, priority attention will be given to drain cleaning, among other things.

Speaking in an interview with IRIE FM news, Mayor Stewart said the works will be carried out between December and January 2.

He said roadways in major towns such as Browns Town, St. Ann’s Bay and Ocho Rios would be blocked off to facilitate a better flow of traffic in the area.
