The ceremony of Investiture and Presentation of National Honours and Awards was held at King’s House.

Ten persons received the Order of Jamaica, among them Monty Alexander for sterling contribution, to the promotion of Jamaican music and the Jazz genre interpretations globally, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia “Babsy” Grange, for sterling contribution to cultural development and political administration in Jamaica, and Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, for outstanding performance in the field of athletics at the international level.

Meantime 7 civilians were recognized for gallantry.
