Gunmen reportedly made off with more than 8 million dollars this morning, following a robbery at a remittance agency on Manchester Road in Mandeville.

Reports from the Manchester Police are that about 9:30 a-m, four gunmen entered the remittance outlet, held up workers and demanded the cash before making their escape.

The remittance outlet which is located close to the Mandeville Town Centre was subsequently closed for the day.

A manhunt has been launched for the alleged criminals.

Today’s heist is the latest in a series of attacks on financial entities and armed couriers transporting cash.

At least one security guard has been killed, while several others were shot and wounded in similar attacks.
