Organizer of the Phase One elite 1 Caribbean Basketball League Wayne Dawkins has been appointed Technical Director of the national under 17 basketball programme. 

The names of the members of his full coaching staff, have not been released by the Jamaica basketball association, but Dawkins will take up the new role effective immediately. 

His first assignment is to prepare the Jamaican team for the upcoming Centro basketball tournament which will be staged in Belize between July 26 to 30.
