The Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) has welcomed a new addition to its roster of flights.

The airport welcomed the new nonstop flight from Toronto, yesterday (December 16).

The flight, operated by Canadian company Flair Airlines, had 178 passengers and crew.

It comes as Jamaica’s winter tourist season, which is expected to be the country’s best yet, gets into swing.

Speaking at the arrival of the Flair Airlines flight yesterday, Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett noted that the new flight, which is scheduled three times per week, will help reach the target of 500,000 Canadian visitors per annum.

Meanwhile, Chief Commercial Officer for Flair Airlines, Garth Lund, added that the airline is optimistic about the Jamaican market.
