JCC reports little change in business and consumer confidence

There was little change in business and consumer confidence in the first quarter of this year, compared to the final quarter of last year.

This was noted during Tuesday morning’s release of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce’s 1st quarter 2024 indices of consumer and business confidence.

The findings indicate that consumer confidence remained flat at 174.7 points across the two quarters, while business confidence edged forward marginally to record 139.7 points compared to the previous quarter’s 139.1.

Speaking during the presentation of the findings, pollster Don Anderson noted that while components of both indices displayed some movement, the out-turns were not significant enough to produce any notable changes.
