NCB’s fraud prevention expert calls for police to get more resources to address fraudulent crimes more effectively

Head of Fraud Prevention at the National Commercial Bank (NCB), Dane Nicholson, is calling for more resources to be provided for the police fraud squad in an effort to address fraudulent crimes more effectively.

This, as he noted that there is a large disparity in the number of fraud reports made to the police versus the number of related arrests made.

Speaking last evening at the 4th annual Rickert Allen Memorial Lecture at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, Mr. Nicholson stressed that there is no shortage of legislation to deal with fraud.

He noted however, that a lack of adequate resources is impacting the investigation of cases.

Mr. Nicholson pointed out that the NCB continues to work with the police to tackle fraud.
