The Education Ministry has embarked on an initiative to improve student behaviour in schools. 

Education Minister Fayval Williams spoke about the new Behaviour Change Support Model that the division of school services has been introducing in schools. 

She gave the update at a Post Cabinet Press Briefing this morning.

It comes amid several violent and inappropriate incidents involving teachers and students in schools recently.

Noting that inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated in the island’s public schools, Mrs. Williams said the programme will focus on several areas. 

Among these are: health promotion, guidance and counselling, student health services and behaviour change support. 

She said the programme will aid students in making positive decisions and managing developmental issues.
