Two people were killed in a crash involving a fifteen seater Hiace mini- bus and a coaster bus, along the Salem main road in St. Ann, on Sunday morning.

The deceased have not yet been identified, but police say the driver of the Hiace mini bus is among the fatalities.

A passenger of that vehicle is said to be the other fatality.

Head of the St. Ann police, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, said the accident occurred at about 8:30 a.m, after the driver of the coaster bus which was travelling towards St. James, overtook another vehicle and collided with the Hiace mini bus.

He said over 14 people are seriously injured.

Meantime Vice Chairman of the National Road Safety Council, Dr Lucien Jones has again stressed the need for motorists to be careful while traversing the nation’s roadway.
