The Integrity Commission says it will not be deterred by litigation as it continues the fight against corruption.

Chairperson, Justice Carol Lawrence Beswick, made the comment at this morning’s opening ceremony for the 12th annual conference of the Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies.

The event, which also involves Jamaica’s Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA), is being held in Kingston this year.

The regional network, which comprises 11 Commonwealth nations is collaborating on regional anti-corruption strategies, legal frameworks and transparency initiatives.

While delivering her welcoming remarks, Justice Lawrence Beswick noted the various challenges including litigation which are faced when combating corruption.

She stressed that those leading the fight should not be intimidated.

Justice Lawrence Beswick said anti-corruption agencies should welcome litigation because of the confidence they have in the courts.
