Beryllium Limited has indicated that it is working closely with the police to investigate what it describes as an incident today, where three persons were wounded, after a firearm was accidentally discharged by one of its security guards.
The incident happened outside the National Commercial Bank (NCB) Portmore Branch in St. Catherine.
NCB in a statement says one person was taken to the hospital, and the other two sustained minor injuries.
The bank adds that it is extending support to those impacted by this unfortunate and unusual event.
The main entrance of its Portmore location remained closed, to facilitate the area being processed by investigators.
