The seven Zones of Special Operations, ZOSOs across the country have been extended for another 60 days.

The areas include: Mount Salem, Denham Town, August Town, Greenwich Town, Norwood, Parade Gardens and Savanna-la-mar Zones of Special Operations.

The ZOSOs are all due to expire on February 21.

Speaking in Parliament yesterday (January 31), National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang noted that the ZOSO’s have been successful in bringing meaningful and sustainable transformation to the communities.

According to Dr. Chang, the extension is necessary as the intended outcomes and impact of the ZOSO’s, cannot be fully realized unless the investment and initiatives are sustained over the medium to long term.

He pointed out that the ZOSOs are also being carefully monitored to ensure efficiency.
