Mr. Holness, who was speaking in St Elizabeth today (July 29) said many ponds and sand dunes, which are deemed environmental assets, are on private lands.

 

This, he explained has limited the amount of protection the Government can offer to these areas.

 

He said it is against this background that the Government is seeking to reclaim these lands.

Mr. Holness added that the Government is moving to implement the supporting legislative framework which allows for the acquiring of these lands.
