Jamaica once again topped the medal standings at the regional Carifta Games held in Grenada , after winning their 38th consecutive title, amassing 83 medals to top the medal podium, as the curtains came down on the exciting three day meet last night at the Kirani James Stadium.

The Jamaicans were nothing short of outstanding after sweeping the sprint hurdles, and the 4×400 meters relays on the final day. 

The black green and gold standard bearers clinched three out of four gold medals in the highly anticipated 200metres races. 

In the under 17 girls event was won by,  Natrece East  in 23.74 seconds, while jamaica’s oshane jervis secured the silver medal in 22.16 seconds.

Shanoya Douglas secured a second individual gold medal when she won the under 20 final in  23.03 seconds, while Sabrina Dockery secured the bronze medal in 23.13 seconds. 

In the under 20 boys equivalent, Jamaica’s Gary Card blazed to victory, and crossed the line 20.60 seconds to claim the gold medal. 

Malayia duncan and abibah harris took the gold in the under 17 and under 20 girls 100 meters hurdles respectively, while Michael Dwyer and Shquan Gordon ran away with teh golds in the under 17 and under 20 boys sprint hurdles. 

In the 4×400 meters relays final starting with the under 17 boys event,  Jamaica with Nickoy Bramwell on anchor struck gold in 3 minutes 18.43 seconds……then later the Jamaican ladies took the gold in 3 minutes 41.84 seconds. 

Shanoya Douglas on the anchor leg, landed the gold for Jamaica in the girls under 20 mile relay in 3 minutes 34.59 seconds, while  the Jamaicans completed the sweep of the 4×4 relats when the quartet of Kamario Bygrave, Jevaughn Pinnock, Marcino Rose and Shaqan Coke  took the gold in the boys under 20 race, in 3 minutes 10.58 seconds.

Qualifying for the World juniors games in Peru this summer  after winning the high jump with 2.13 metres ,Chavez Penn returned to win the boys under 20 triple yesterday  .
