Westmoreland teacher abducted in Hanover last Thursday rescued by police; two of her alleged abductors fatally shot

A Westmoreland teacher who was abducted in Hanover last Thursday was rescued the same day by police.

Two of her three abductors were also fatally shot by lawmen.

Dead are 21-year-old Kevin Gordon, otherwise called ‘Josh’, and 27-year-old Christopher Williams, otherwise called ‘Bubba’, both of Savanna-La-Mar, Westmoreland.

Reports are that on Thursday, May 8, police received reports that the teacher was forcibly removed from her vehicle at approximately 6:00 A.M. in Pell River, Hanover by three armed men.

The men then transported her to another location in the community.

Acting on intelligence, police teams went to a premises in Hanover, where three men were seen.

A confrontation ensued, and two of the alleged abductors were fatally shot.

Lawmen believe that the third perpetrator escaped.

Two 9 millimetre pistols were seized following the incident.

Police say Gordon, one of the now deceased abductors, was charged with a September 2023 murder and was reporting on condition of bail.

Head of the Hanover police, Superintendent Andrew Nish, has commended the teams involved in the operation.

The police are continuing their efforts to apprehend others involved in the incident.
