West Indies World Cup squad arrive in Antigua

Members of the West Indies men’s World Cup squad will begin assembling in Antigua on Saturday for the first official training camp ahead of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup which takes place from June 1 -29.

The team to be led by Rovman Powell includes Jamaican compatriots Brandon King and Andre russell along with Guyana pacer Shamar Joseph and fellow countryman Shimron Hetmyer.

Completing the  15-man squad are Alzarri Joseph, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Akeal Hossain, Gudakesh Motie, Nicholas Pooran, Sherfane Rutherford and Romario Shepherd.

West Indies, drawn in Group C, will kick-start their campaign against Papua New Guinea at Providence in Guyana on June 2 before facing Uganda at the same venue on June 8.

They will then play New Zealand in Trinidad on June 12, before their final game of the group stage against Afghanistan in St. Lucia on June 17.
