West Indies player Evin Lewis to feature in Zim/Afro T10 cricket league in Zimbabwe
West indies player Evin Lewis will suit up for the Harare Hurricanes when action bowls off next Thursday in the much-anticipated and Inaugural Zim/Afro T10 cricket league in Zimbabwe.
Lewis is one of three west indies player in the tournament which runs from July 20 to 29, the others are Andre Fletcher who will play for the Durban Qalandars and Odean Smith who will feature for the Joburg Buffaloes squad.
The league will feature five teams – Bulawayo Braves, Cape Town Samp Army, Durban Qalandars, Harare Hurricanes, and Joburg Buffaloes – and all matches of the tournament will be played at the iconic Harare Sportsz club.
The action-packed tournament will kick off with an exciting opening ceremony , where the Harare Hurricanes take on Bulawayo Braves.
Shaji Ul Mulk, chairman of T -Ten global sports, which is pushing the t10 format’s expansion, said cricket must pack its drama and action into 90 minutes if it is to rival the popularity of soccer.
Cricket West Indies became the first ICC full member to host a 10-overs tournament last year, although T Ten global sports was not involved.
