Water restored to section of Drapers in Portland

Water has now been restored to a section of the Drapers community in Portland, following protests this morning, over the absence of the commodity.

Residents in the area downed trees and used debris to block the main road to register their frustration over long-standing water issues.

The road in Zion Hill a detour route to Drapers was also blocked.

The roadblocks have been cleared.

Drapers Heights, however is still without water.

A resident told Irie FM News that the community members are frustrated over the inconsistent water supply and the fact that they are still receiving water bills from the National Water Commission.
