Vulnerable groups urged to access 18,000 flu vaccines now available at public health facilities
Members of vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and children, as well as front line healthcare workers, are being encouraged to get the influenza / flu vaccine.
The flu season usually starts in October.
Speaking during yesterday’s post-cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, Director of Health Services Planning and Integration, in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Dr. Nadine Williams noted that 18,000 flu vaccines are now available at Jamaica’s health care facilities.
The vaccines are available free of cost, to the members of high-risk groups.
