The University of the West Indies (UWI) is at the centre of transformation in the global education sector.

That is according to UWI Vice Chancellor, Sir Hilary Beckles, who was speaking during a Mona campus council meeting on Friday.

His statement comes ahead of a financial agreement between the UWI and the Inter American Development Bank (IDB).

The Vice Chancellor said the agreement would enable the flow of necessary resources into the UWI, so it can develop new strategies to deliver higher education, especially in this post-COVID era.

He said the main focus of the agreement is the development of online learning.
