Usain Bolt to be honoured with the BBC Sports Personality lifetime achievement award

Legendary Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is to be honoured with the BBC Sports Personality lifetime achievement award.

The 8 time Olympic Champion retired in 2017 after a spectacular career that saw him creating history by becoming the only person to win the 100 and 200 meters events at three consecutive Olympic Games .

The eleven time world champion also holds the world 100 and 200 metre records of 9.58 and 19.19 seconds respectively…..both set at the then IAAF 2009  World championships in Berlin.

His list of accomplishments include winning the Prestigious Laureus Sportsman of the Year Award four times . 

He was also Jamaica’s Sportsman of the year on seven occasions and was a five-time winner of the World Athletics sportsman of the year award.

The BBC Annual sports personality of the year awards will take place next Wednesday.
