Upset NWC workers resume duties following meeting with management
National Water Commission (NWC) workers who took industrial action have resumed normal duties, following a meeting with management today.
It’s reported that maintenance workers in the engineering department staged a sick out for the past few days reportedly due to dissatisfaction with the outcomes of the recent public sector compensation review.
NWC Communications Manager Delano Williams said the meeting also involved representatives of the trade unions.
The unions pointed out that the industrial action was not sanctioned and that the review process is ongoing.
The workers were asked to be patient as discussions continue.
Meantime, opposition spokesperson on water Ian Hayles has expressed concern about the fairness of the public sector compensation review process.
This in the wake of industrial action taken by some workers of the National Water Commission (NWC).
