Upgrades on Constant Spring Water Treatment Plant stop leakage of 4.5 million gallons of water each day

Water Minister Matthew Samuda said upgrades conducted on the Constant Spring Water Treatment Plant in St Andrew have halted the leakage of 4.5 million gallons of water each day.

Speaking during a visit to the facility yesterday (April 27), Samuda said with Jamaica being prone to drought, as is being experienced now, it is essential that the nation’s water systems operate at a high standard.

He said the upgrades are part of the Government’s commitment to restore and enhance the country’s water system.

Mr Samuda noted that the upgrades on the treatment plant commenced in 2019.

Since then, work has been done to improve storage, water quality and distribution.
