Investigations into the death of 8-year-old Ramiel Richardson in Grange Hill, Westmoreland last Friday are at an advanced stage.

Ramiel who was of Top Lincoln, in Grange Hill perished in a house fire at about 11:40 PM.

Police say Ramiel was alone in the house when it caught fire.

It is reported that his mother who was on the outside raised an alarm.

The fire department was contacted and after the cooling down operation Ramiel was seen on the ground, unconscious.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His mother was taken to custody.

Superintendent Dobson told IRIE FM news that the investigations should be concluded soon.
