Two males were shot and killed in Green Pond, Mount Salem, St. James this morning.

They have not yet been identified.

Preliminary reports from the police are that at about 6:30 AM, the males were pounced upon by gunmen who opened fire hitting them.

They were pronounced dead at hospital.

The double murder follows the declaration of a State of Emergency in St. James yesterday.

Hanover, Westmoreland, St. Catherine, Clarendon and the St. Andrew South Police Division are also under SOEs.
