TEF provides clarity on construction of Devon House courtyard
The Tourism Enhancement Fund, TEF, has sought to provide clarity on its construction of the courtyard at Devon House, in St. Andrew.
Development of the courtyard started in March this year and seeks to address concerns about safety and pedestrian flow among other things.
However, when pictures of the progress of the works surfaced on social media today (December 22), many persons expressed dislike to the changes, including that the new look lacked greenery.
In response Senior Advisor and Strategist in the Tourism Ministry Delano Seiveright has assured the public that the project has not been completed.
Mr. Seiveright said TEF suspended the rehabilitation work to allow the public to use the facility for the Christmas season.
He promised that the completed space will have more greenery.
Mr. Seiveright added that the project does not include upgrades to other areas of the property and that works would not disturb the historic architectural designs of the popular site.
