Culture and Entertainment Minister, Olivia Grange, despite recovering from illness, has acknowledged the death of actor Ronald Goshop and has taken time to the send condolences to his family, fans and showbiz family.
In a release, Minister Grange, expressed regret at the passing of Goshop noting that he was respected and admired by his peers for his talent, skills and dedication to his profession.
Yesterday, August 13, news surfaced that the actor’s body was discovered at his home. His cause of death is unknown.
Ronold Goshop, captivated audiences, becoming a household name in the early nineties, when his character Mackie played the role of a gardener on the CVM television series Royal Palm Estate which aired from 1994 to 2015.
Goshop also had a role in the 1989 movie, The Mighty Quinn which starred Denzel Washington and Sheryl Lee Ralph. In 1997 he was a part of the cast in the popular Jamaican film Dancehall Queen and in 2005 he had a role in Runt.
Goshop was also an educator of note, who taught visual arts at the high school level for over twenty-five years.
