Dancehall sensation Vybz Kartel who is set to make his grand return to the US stage in April has been on the receiving end of a backlash from his fans.
Kartel who is set to host a highly anticipated concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 11, has fans expressing their shock and disappointment at the high-ticket prices. Fans have complained that with the state of the economy it would have been mindful of Kartel and his team to keep the tickets at a reasonable price. Tickets to the concert ranges from UDS$180 and a high of $2000 USD.
Despite the backlash and the unprecedented demand for tickets, Vybz Kartel and the event organizer have added a second date at the Barclays Center for Saturday, April 12.
The concert marks Kartel’s first performance in the US since his release from prison in July 2024 and in over 20 years. Since his release, the Fever DJ has been making waves in the music industry, attending high-profile events such as the 2025 Grammy Awards and the MOBO Awards, where he received the prestigious Impact Award.
Kartel is also set to perform at the 20th anniversary of London’s Wireless Festival on July 13, alongside t Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Summer Walker, and Burna Boy.
