Dancehall megastar Vybz Kartel has provided clarity on utterances he made during his recent Drink Champs interview, regarding his trip to St Vincent.
The need to provide clarity stems from St Vincent’s opposition New Democratic Party demanding answers from the government following Kartel’s revelation on the podcast about his private plane flight to the island last August.
On Drink Champs, Kartel said, I went to St. Vincent, I went to visit the Prime Minister…He sent for me… private jet and everything.
In a video shared by Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves on TikTok, Kartel apologized for any misinterpretations his utterances caused, revealing that though his visit to St Vincent was an invitation from Dr Gonsalves, his flight and trip were funded by himself. Dr Gonsalve’s caption admitted that he did invite Kartel to his country, he wrote, “Of course I invited my brethren, Wurl Boss to visit us! Meanwhile, Kartel who made the clip from England, is set to be honoured with the Impact Award at the MOBO Awards in London later today.
