The St. Ann police are investigating a suspected case of drowning at a beach on Forte Land Road in Discovery Bay, in the parish on Saturday.

The deceased is 56-year-old Sharon Taylor of Corner Street, Discovery Bay in St. Ann.

Reports from the Discovery Bay police are that about 3:50 p.m., Taylor went for a swim and got into difficulties, and drowned before help could reach her.

Taylor’s body was removed from the water by members of the marine police division.

The body was transported to hospital, where death was confirmed.
