Some JPS customers still without power; company advises some residents to expect prolonged outages

Several Jamaica Public Service, JPS customers remain without power, as the company says efforts to restore supply to affected communities have been hampered by adverse weather conditions.

Public Relations Manager Audrey Williams said work has been delayed by flooding, blocked roads and lightning activity.

She said residents of Clarendon in particular, should prepare for prolonged outages as roadways leading to affected communities have been blocked, namely the access routes via Pedro River, Aenon Town and other corridors.

In St. Catherine and Manchester, where several poles were uprooted and washed out, teams also face significant challenges.

In rural St. Andrew, teams attempting to restore power to Bowden Hill, were also forced to halt works due to the deteriorating conditions.
