Soldier among two men who died in crashes last night

A 24-year-old member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) died in a three-vehicle collision, in St. Ann, last night (October 13).

He has been identified as Chavane Allen, of Standfast, in Brown’s Town.

Reports from the police are that around 9: 35 PM, Allen was driving his Toyota Fielder motor car, along the Richmond main road, heading towards Priory, when his car, and another motor vehicle, heading in the same direction, collided with a motor truck being driven in the opposite direction.

All three drivers sustained injuries and were taken to hospital, where Allen was pronounced dead, and the other 2 were admitted in stable condition.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man died in a single vehicle collision in St. Catherine, last night.

He has been identified as Christopher Knight, of Charlton in Ewarton.

Reports from the police are that around 10: 50 PM, Knight was driving his black Honda Accord motor car, towards Ewarton.

Upon reaching a section of the Byndloss main road, he lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into an ackee tree.

Knight was cut from the wreckage and taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
