Romelda Aiken one of seven Jamaicans at the Suncorp Team Girls Cup
Veteran goal-shooter Romelda Aiken has been confirmed as one of seven Jamaicans who will be in action at the Suncorp team girls Cup which gets underway Tomorrow Jamaica time at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre in Queensland, Australia.
Aiken, who spent 14 years in Queensland with the Firebirds before departing in controversial fashion last year…..joined the NSW Swifts after being offered a training partner contract.
She’s been listed among a group of 12 players who will represent new south wales in the team girls cup which serves as the official pre-season tournament for the Suncorp Super Netball League.
The three-day event……….which ends on Sunday, features the eight Suncorp super netball league teams who will compete in a round-robin style format, eventually leading to a grand final between the two highest ranked teams in each pool on the final day.
The competition gets underway with Aiken taking Centre-court for nNw Wouth Wales in the pool ‘a’ match-up against defending league champions west coast fever which include reigning five-time mvp Jhaniele Fowler.
Other Jamaicans down to be in action at the team girls cup includes Shimona nelson and Jodi-Ann Ward for Collingwood Magpies, Kadie-Ann Dehaney…..Sunshine Coast Lightning and Shamera Sterling and Latanya Wilson who will both suit for the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
