Reggae boyz slips two places to number 57

Jamaica’s Reggae boyz have slipped two places to number 57 in the first published fifa Coca Cola world rankings for 2024.

The boyz who ended 2023 as the 55th ranked team in the world remains the sixth ranked team in Concoacf.

The United States is the top Concacaf team despite slipping one spot to 13th.

Mexico stays at 15th, Panama down three spots to 44, Canada down two spots to 50, and Costa Rica down two spots to 54.

There is plenty of movement further within the standings following the matches contested in the Africa cup of nations and the Asian Cup.

Among the African sides, the Ivory Coast jumps ten spots to 39th, reaping the rewards of their continental triumph on home soil while beaten finalists Nigeria leaps 14 spots to 28th.

Two-time Asian Cup winners Qatar (37th, up 21) chalk up the biggest tally (92.04 points) after capitalising on home comforts to successfully defend their continental crown.

There is no movement within the top ten with World Champions Argentina holding firm at number one ahead of France, England, Belgium, Brazil, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Croatia.
