Reggae Boys depart USA after crashing out of Concacaf Gold Cup
(Report compiled by Robert Williams , on assignment in Las Vegas)
Members of Jamaica’s Reggae Boys delegation are heading off in many different directions today as Jamaica’s participation at the 2023 Concacaf Gold cup ended last night at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas Nevada.
The reggae boys went down 3-nil to many time champions Mexico in the second semi-final after conceding an early 2nd minute goal.
Some players will be returning to their clubs for pre -season or for regular season.
The goodbyes started last night as some players were scheduled for early departures while some departed later in the day, along with other members of the delegation who are down to depart later.
All this after the reggae boys miss out on qualifying for the Gold Cup final for the first time since 2017.
Henry Martin fired home from close range in the 2nd minute to give medico the lead, which was doubled by Luis Chavez with an amazing free kick in the 30th minute and Roberto Alvarado closed the show in 2nd half injury time.
Midfielder Joel Latibeaudiere will learn from this as they turn their attention to the upcoming nations league in September.
